Background

I began my study of astrology as a teenager on the floor of my mother’s bookstore. On a dismissed bottom shelf I discovered Derek Parker's, The Compleat Astrologer, a treasure-trove of astrological fundamentals. On days I minded the store; I pulled out Parker’s and learned about the underpinnings of the universe.

I studied further at Mount Allison University, studying Psychology and English Literature and obtaining my Bachelor of Arts. But I missed astrology. English Studies circled the point, refusing to grab hold of symbols and work them. Psychology, while rigorous in application, harbored little tolerance for the ideal.

After a decade of counseling in the social work field, the birth of my son Jacob brought me to a crossroads.  With the pending expiration of my maternity leave, the encouragement of my husband and the insistence of a handful of clients, I committed myself to the practice of astrology.

To develop my skill, understanding and professionalism, I sought a world-class mentor. To this end I enrolled in Noel Tyl’s Master’s Certification Program. Noel Tyl is the renowned pioneer of contemporary psychological astrology whose methodology links archetypal astrological symbolism with Psychological Need Theory.

He is also a gracious, eloquent and brilliant teacher. His guidance and support has been invaluable to my growth. So too has the opportunity to participate in the extended Tyl community of talented and dedicated astrologers evolving his methodology.

In counsel I employ astrology’s tools as a mathematical science, a synthesizing art and provident guide. The resultant charged perspective provides the ideal context to engage in enriched relationship to discover creative purpose.
